About
Farah Sosa is a culture photographer from Guatemala, based in Southern California. After learning the fundamentals as a teenage photo-journalist in Guatemala, Sosa developed her visual ethnography to explore the contemporary music scene of Los Angeles. Her work is highlighted in her ever-updated photography archive FARAHSTOP, which documents varied musical scenes from cumbia, afro-funk, house, hip-hop, jazz and beyond seeking beauty in the dark.
Although her main focus is the local underground music scene in LA, Farah also has documented performances from global artists such as Talib Kweli, Karsh Kale, Calle 13, Anoushka Shankar, Maceo (De La Soul), Lila Downs, Michael Franti, MIA, Snoop Dogg, and more. With visual work spanning both established entertainment and cultural nights along with underground music scenes in Los Angeles, Farah is a dynamic, experienced photographer of choice.
